Genuine 3M IJ-35C is an opaque calendered polymeric vinyl with a gray acrylic pressure-sensitive permanent adhesive. Comply air-release channels help air escape toward the graphic edge during dry installation.
Designed for indoor and outdoor signs, point-of-purchase graphics, displays and selected vehicle or bus graphics on flat surfaces, simple curves and rivets. It is not intended for compound curves, deep channels or recesses.
Typical substrates include aluminum, glass, PMMA, polycarbonate, ABS and compatible paint. Comply versions are dry-apply only. 3M lists 4–38°C for flat applications and 10–38°C for simple curves or rivets, with 18–22°C recommended for easiest application.
The bulletin’s six-year expected performance figure is an unwarranted reference for unprinted, unprotected white film on a flat vertical outdoor surface under specified climate conditions—not a blanket finished-graphic warranty. Ink, laminate, preparation, exposure and installation all affect service life.
Test adhesion on powder-coated or water-based paints. Solar heat absorption can create glass-breakage risk. Polycarbonate may require heat drying, rivets may tent, water immersion is excluded, and heat/chemical removal may leave adhesive residue.
Choose the printed film as-is, gloss laminate or matte laminate at no added product charge. Lamination can change appearance and protection, but it does not override substrate, installation or exposure limitations.
